Chapter Two: Love in the Underworld

In the song “Ribbons” by The Sisters of Mercy, Andrew Eldritch sings the line “Love is a many splintered thing.” Taking a cue from that sentiment, Justin and Ed have decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day by taking a look at some of their favorite love songs, and how each artist interprets the emotion. From lusting after a dream girl, to mourning a partner in decline, to partying with the, err, recently deceased, we’ll hear from bands like Funker Vogt, She Wants Revenge, Skinny Puppy, and more.

The Arcane Machine is a monthly show with supplemental content on Facebook, Twitter, and Discord throughout each month. If you like what you hear, please visit the artists’ pages linked below and buy some music!

Special thanks to Chris Steenerson for the listener-request song at the end of the show.
